Rug cleaning

Today we have been cleaning rugs in our workshop, one particular rug had quite a dense wool pile, we turned the rug on its front (upside-down) as we normally do to vacuum the back, doing this also loosens grit from the fibres which then fall to the sheet its laying on, when we turned the rug back over there was a thick layer of debris on the sheet it was lying on, we recovered approx 1 pound of grit from the rug, the rug came from a client who was very particular about her cleaning regime, this is not uncommon when we clean rugs, the particles get trapped between the fibres and vacuuming is not enough to remove all the trapped particles, once a month when carrying out your regular vacuum turn the rug over and vacuum the back this will remove a lot of grit and dust trapped in the fibres.
